LISD Superintendent Dr. Don Heseman is excited to brag on our Business Department! They earned an "A" on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST)! He says, "That may not sound as exciting as some of the other things we celebrate around here, but it really is a big deal. Every dollar that comes into Levelland ISD has to be accounted for. Every dollar we spend has to be tracked, documented in duplicates and triplicates sometimes, and spent the right way out of the right "bucket." There are a lot of moving pieces behind the scenes that most people never see. Our Business Department does an incredible job managing all of that. They aren't just paying bills and keeping the books.....They constantly look ahead, make sure we have the resources we need, make sure we spend wisely, and help us make decisions that keep our district financially healthy. And I think one of the best examples of that is what we've been able to build into our budget. We have planned for sign-on bonuses, TIA payouts, and a retention bonus for our employees."
