Meet the new South Elementary Principal....Shana Fleming was named as the new South Elementary Principal. She was born and raised in the small town of Friona. Shana received her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech. She has been in the education field for twenty-eight years and has taught Special Education, Kindergarten, Pre-K, Second, and Fourth grade in both private and public education settings. Mrs. Fleming's last seven years in the classroom were spent teaching "Take Flight" to students with dyslexia, which is one of her passions. Shana received her Masters in Educational Leadership from Lubbock Christian University, and she has served as a Federal Program/Curriculum and Instruction Specialist and as a Principal for Bovina ISD. She says, "Throughout my time in education I have found that one of my favorite parts is truly learning about my students and families and tailoring the educational approach to best fit their specific needs and abilities. I believe we never stop learning, and I enjoy seeing educators meeting our students where they are and helping them soar from there, regardless of where the starting line may be. I am ecstatic to join the staff of South Elementary, and become a member of the passionate team of educators I have seen and heard about thus far. My vision for us is to continue to grow the community and culture of South Elementary together to best nurture the individual needs of both the students and staff. I am so excited to meet each and every one of you, and I look forward to an amazing year together!" Mrs. Fleming, welcome to Levelland. We are thrilled to have you in our Levelland ISD community and know that you will fall in love with the South students and staff!
