Lead Rural Fellowship

Levelland ISD is proud to share that our Director of Instructional Services & Federal Programs Donna Pugh, has been selected for the LeadRural Fellowship, a new effort to drive innovation in rural education. Mrs. Pugh is one of twelve candidates selected across the state to participate.  The Lead Rural Fellowship supports the vision for implementing change for innovation in rural school districts. Over the fellowship year, she will gain proficiency in the following subjects: knowledge of emerging and established best practices and capacity to design and implement state-aligned initiatives with sustainable public funding streams. Along the way, she will have access to a strong group of technical assistance providers who will advise and support her with designing and implementing strategies and tactics aligned with our local needs and statewide education goals. “In Levelland ISD, we are always looking for ways to provide opportunities for our students in preparation for college, career or military,” said Donna Pugh. “This Fellowship will provide us with a multitude of resources that we can apply in Levelland ISD. For example, the district is currently in a planning year for the implementation of a Principles of Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) program. P-TECH will provide an avenue for our students to earn an Associate’s degree at South Plains College, gain an industry-based certification that will align with their chosen career field and equip them with the tools to work in our community. We want to “grow our own” students to become a part of the productive Levelland workforce and community.” Thank you, Mrs. Pugh, for always expecting excellence in Levelland ISD and helping us be the best place to learn and grow.
