Migrant Program Wins Award!

LISD is so proud to announce that our Migrant Program received the Promising Practices Award last Friday at the 2021 Statewide Parent Involvement Conference for their Migrant Mother's Day Presentation. Our Migrant Program focuses on helping parents with resources and answers for student achievement. Our teachers, staff, and parent liaisons focus on parent and family engagement that gives opportunities and confidence to build background knowledge and skills that enable them to be successful upon entering LISD schools. Migrant teacher, Deanne Calderon graciously accepted the award and stated that she is so proud that everyone works together to make this, and all the parent engagement activities successful. We are so proud of our LISD Migrant Program! Congratulations! You're in the right place!
