Each year The Community Foundation of West Texas donates money to our educators. This year is no different! Mr. Russell Hill from LHS, Mrs. Sarah Pruitt from Capitol, and Mrs. Tammy Branch from Levelland ABC were each awarded grant money for special projects this coming year. The Endowment Foundation of West Texas gives away about $31,000 each year to teachers who see a new vision and want to awaken minds in their classrooms. Mr. Hill will now be able to purchase commercial production equipment to teach his business students to create commercials for their own businesses and/or be paid to do the same for other businesses. LHS students will use these skills after graduation and for a career. Mrs. Pruitt is excited to buy flexible seating to help her third-grade students stay engaged and focused throughout the day. It is her goal to keep students engaged every day all day. Mrs. Branch will be purchasing STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Math) manipulatives to enhance learning in her first-grade classroom this year. Mrs. Branch's students will get to experience hands-on learning that teaches critical thinking and innovation. Not pictured in Mrs. Latova Ewings who received a grant from a private donor that will help replace teaching items lost in the May Storm. We are so proud of these three for earning these grants. Levelland ISD #expectsexcellence and sends out a great big thank you to The Community Foundation of West Texas for supporting Levelland ISD educators each year!
